The United States House of Representatives brought a “new and improved” gun control bill to the table this week. The Dems in control in the House the bill has the best chance of passing in the past few years. “Now is the time to enact commonsense gun safety legislation,” said Colorado congresswoman Diana DeGette. “We need to get these assault weapons off of our streets and we need to do it now.”
Pelosi stated, “…there is bipartisan legislation to have common sense background checks to prevent guns going into the wrong hands.” She stated this bill, “doesn’t cover everything but it will save many lives.” Pelosi also made it clear that banning assault weapons will be the main focus of the next congress.
